Tax Free Weekend in Georgia 2014 Back to School supplies are out – it’s inevitable … the new school year is coming!  And for once the annual Georgia Tax Free Weekend actually falls BEFORE school starts in Forsyth County! The 2014 Tax Free Weekend in Georgia falls on August 1st – 2nd this year.   As with any good deal, there are definitely some restrictions but you’ll be tax exempt on most clothing & footwear (with a sales price of $100 or less per item), a single purchase of personal computers & computer related accessories (with a sales price of $1000 or less), and general school supplies (with a sales price of $20 or less per item). Forsyth County Back to School 2014 It is hard to believe, that the start of the 2014-2015 school year is just around the corner!!  But it’s true.  It’s time to start thinking about “Back to School” in Forsyth County Schools – or time to at least start putting dates on your calendar! Make sure your calendar is marked with these important dates: Monday, August 4th – Middle School Open House (Check your school website for specific times) Tuesday, August 5th – Elementary School Open House (Check your school website for specific times) High Schools – Check your school website for specific information Thursday, August 7th – First Day of School Important Note for Parents of a rising Kindergarten Student: Forsyth County Elementary Schools offer a Kindergarten Bus Round Up day.  This is a great opportunity to ride the bus WITH your child, follow the bus route, and let your child get comfortable with only a few kids on board.  The dates vary by school so either visit your school’s website or contact them by phone.  If you are registered you should be contacted by the bus driver, but if this is important to you, you may want to get ahead of the game just in case by checking with your direct school.
